New Agencies/Partners

Thank you for your support of Michigan State University students. Last year, over 13,825 student applications for service were received at the Center for Service-Learning and Civic Engagement (CSLCE). Students selected positions offering opportunities for:

MSU Service-Learning and Civic Engagement works with students and faculty from a wide range of academic majors, as well as staff from Student, Residence and Greek Life, and registered student organizations. Areas of placement are: Hospitals and Health Services, Senior Citizens, Community Nutrition, Mental Health and Human Services, Pre-Vet Medicine, Engineering and Construction, Business Administration, Communications, Museums and Cultural Arts, Science and Environment, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, Community Projects, Education, Pre-School and Daycare, Recreation Leadership, Special Education, and Youth Mentoring.

The Position Description form is used for both long-term (7-14 weeks), and for short-term projects or one-day events. Please submit separate descriptions for each position or project. If the project is a one-time or short-term event, we appreciate 6 weeks advance notice for publicizing. The CSLCE staff recruits from and publicizes to the campus community.

Please be certain to read the Memorandum of Collaboration and the MSU Calendar. The memorandum outlines expectations for both the CSLCE and the community partner. As MSU students frequently schedule their service in conjunction with the academic year, the calendar will assist you in knowing when to plan for student attendance. After you list a position, students will bring (to you) a Referral Letter. Please return the Referral Letter to the CSLCE to verify the start date for their placement. The CSLCE maintains student volunteer records, which include dates of service. Some students may also request that you provide an evaluation upon completion of their service experience. We are looking forward to working with you! Thanks again for your interest!
